7:52 am - DANADAX - "DAXSCAPES II" has been released (dark ambient/noise). (x-posted)

Archive.org download page.

Whereas the material for DANADAX's first LP "DAXSCAPES I" spanned several years, the tracks on the project's second LP reach even further into the past and further into the future. Some of the cuts on "DAXSCAPES II" were made during the time DANADAX's first 2 EPs were recorded (back in late 2004). A heavy majority of the tracks on "DAXSCAPES II" were created during the same sessions for "DAXSCAPES I," (2005 - 2007) and even a few tracks on the second LP were created a year after the first was released (2007 - 2008).

Of special note, which I (Curtis) feel I must include here, "Danger In A Dark Room (Version 2)" was created in mid-to-late 2005, during a time when DANADAX was temporarily a three-person project. Most of the samples were originally recorded by Curtis Whatley and James Westberry. The samples were then given to Curtis D. Cousins (the sole constant member of DANADAX) to manipulate and mix together, while throwing in a few of his own sounds as well. He made several mixes from the same set of samples. The second version in the set of mixes ended up being the agreed-upon final cut amongst the three.

All visual artwork was created by Curtis D. Cousins.

12:52 pm - New Cruxshadows DVD+CD notes plus other coolness
darkmusic_scene since Cruxshadows is listed as a community interest, I thought this post would be of interest.

Information on the new Cruxshadows DVD+CD, "Shadowbox" and the new Project Pitchfork album, "Kaskade" has been posted at isotank.com Just go to the Department section and click on the link for the relevant band.

On a different but still exciting note, Qntal has posted a number of sound clips from their new album on their web site, as well as a video of them performing a new song live. "Qntal IV" will be available next week. If you like Dead Can Dance, Vas or Loreena McKennitt, you will probably dig Qntal.

2:02 pm - New EPs released (x-posted)

2 DANADAX EPs have been released by Intelligentmachinery.net, a netlabel that specializes in Dark Ambient, Noise, and abstract music.

The First EP is called "Trips Into Places Unknown," which can be found here. It is described as "deep, dark drone and dark ambient of a unique experimental disposition that can only be described as "soft noise". The perfect accompaniment for any subliminal odyssey in its balance of harsh sound and lush textural delivery."

The Second EP is called "Consciousness in Shifts of Decay," found here. It has been described as "A myriad of shifting layers of soft noise creating aural textures of a dark and mystic nature. The experimental duo of DANADAX deliver this discourse on decaying consciousness in a brief, but beautiful, collection of their own brand of dark ambient."

Downloads are available as lo-fi MP3s, and hi-fi MP3 downloads are just 20 cents each.

If you buy both EP's, you get a free EP from Likwid Twizter, a side project belonging to one of the members of DANADAX.

All artwork for the EPs are available at the website, and they print in high resolution.

The members of DANADAX are practitioners of Chaos Magick and use their tracks as "sound sigils."

The synthetic dream foundation is probably my favorite new school band, and finally after several months of silence, they have a new song posted on their website! Anyone who is interested in aggressive, and experimental styles of electronic music should definitely go download it immediately, as the song is pure brilliance! Its called "Plasma ring" and is an experimental EBM dance monster, with old school industrial sound elements. Its probably their "clubbiest" song ever, so I hope some local DJs take note, as I would LOVE to dance to this song on a loud sound system. You can grab this track from their site at

Hi, I am one of the two people behind a project called DANADAX. We do music that blurs the lines between ambient and noise. Kind of noisy and droney and ethereal at the same time you could say. I call it "soft noise" but some people call it dark ambient.

Anyways, our music will be airing on "Not The Normal Shit Radio" tonight. The online radio station's webpage can be found here:

The online stream is in an audio format that any media player can play.

it airs on Fridays at 10:00 PM EST/EDT (7:00 PM PST/PDT | 3:00 AM GMT).
